A fitted kitchen is assembled from a manufacturer’s range of cabinet sizes and fronts and fitted to the room. A bespoke kitchen is made to the room: every cabinet sized to the wall it goes on, materials and finishes chosen rather than picked from a range. Fitted covers most kitchens well; bespoke earns its cost in awkward spaces, in old buildings and at the top of the market.

There is no single answer, which is why the worktop hub compares them. Quartz and porcelain suit a kitchen that is used hard and cleaned quickly. Marble suits an owner who accepts that it will mark and considers that part of the material. Porcelain and sintered stone suit outdoor kitchens and full-height splashbacks. Microcement gives a seamless look and depends entirely on who applies it.
