What a range does, and what it cannot
A range is a system: carcasses in fixed widths and heights, fronts in a set of finishes, internal fittings that drop into any cabinet of that size. It is what makes a fitted kitchen quicker to plan and quicker to make, and it is why two companies fitting the same range can be compared at all.
The limit is the room. A range fits a rectangular room with square corners and standard ceiling heights very well. It fits a finca with a vault and no parallel walls by filling the gaps, and the quality of a fitted kitchen in an old Mallorca house is largely the quality of how those gaps are handled: scribed end panels, a plinth that follows a floor that is not level, a run that stops short of a wall that leans.
Standard and premium ranges differ less in the carcass than in the front, the hardware and the internal fittings. A premium range has thicker fronts, better hinges and runners, and drawers where a standard range has doors. Those are the things a kitchen is used through, and they are where the price difference is felt.

Is a fitted kitchen good enough for a villa?
Often, yes. A premium range in a regular room, fitted well, is what many villas on the island have and it wears well. Bespoke earns its cost where the room is awkward or the finish is the point, not simply because the property is large.
Where are the ranges made?
Mostly on the mainland or in Germany, with a few made on the island. It matters for the lead time and for who comes back if a front is damaged in transit, so ask.
Can a fitted kitchen work in an old stone house?
Yes, and the fitting is where it is won or lost. Walls that lean, floors that slope and ceilings that vault all have to be met with scribed panels and a plinth that follows the floor. A company that has fitted kitchens in village houses will describe that before it prices the units.
What is the difference between a standard and a premium range?
Less in the carcass than in what is attached to it: front thickness and finish, hinges and runners, drawers instead of doors, and the internal fittings. Those are the things a kitchen is used through, and they are where the price difference is felt.
